With the more extensive application of hot-dip galvanizing equipment, the hot-dip galvanizing industry has also developed more rapidly.
The selection of the size of the zinc pot should be based on the actual use. Qingdao Hexin Machinery Co., Ltd. recommends the following principles:
a) According to the width and length of the largest workpiece for dipping, determine the minimum size of the length and width of the zinc pot, so as to ensure the smooth operation of the overall immersion, lifting and dusting of the workpiece.
b) Determine the heating area and the depth of the zinc pot according to the heat load of the zinc pot and the calculation of the safe heating intensity. The depth of the zinc pot is generally 1.3 to 2 times the width of the zinc pot. The advantage of increasing the depth is to increase the heat capacity of the zinc bath, reduce the fluctuation of zinc temperature, and increase the working volume per hour: increase the heating area of the pot wall, reduce the heating intensity, and prolong the life of the zinc pot: it is conducive to the settlement of zinc slag and prevents workpieces The disturbance to the bottom slag ensures the surface quality of the plated parts.
c) The total zinc capacity of the zinc pot should be 30 to 40 times the maximum operating capacity per hour (20 times the steel wire hot-dip galvanizing zinc pot) to ensure the stability of the zinc liquid temperature.
d) The bending radius of the inner wall of the rounded zinc pot is generally 125-200m, which is more than 3 times the thickness of the plate during cold bending and more than 2.5 times the thickness of the plate during hot bending.
The thickness of the zinc pot wall depends on the selected special steel plate for the zinc pot. Currently, there are three specifications of 40mm, 50mm and 60mm. In addition to the use of steel plates with a δ of 40mm for small zinc pots, a steel plate with a δ of 50mm is generally used. For extra-long or ultra-deep (>3m) zinc pots, a steel plate with a δ of 60mm can be considered.
Increase the thickness of the zinc pot wall, its ability to resist static pressure and rigidity increase, but the thermal stress increases accordingly. When the depth of the zinc pot exceeds 1.8, an adjustable support device should be provided on the outside of the zinc pot to reduce the deformation of the zinc pot.
